Hands Are the Key to the Brain!

My name is Sara Saragdin. Where I call home is Canada! Since graduating eight years ago with a Montessori degree (from the UK) and a Bachelors in Teaching with a specialization in Early Childhood Education (Perth, Australia), I have worked at ‘Holy Name Primary School’ in Australia with grade 2 & 3. I’m a very adventurous and curious. So, I love to travel around the world a lot to learn about different cultures and food. I also enjoy all kinds of risky sports such as, paragliding, parasailing, and skydiving.

I moved to Kuwait 8 years ago. I have worked in a variety of educational settings. At first, I was working at Gulf Montessori as a teacher. I also taught KG1 at the Reborn Kids Education Academy.

Being at BBS, I have had the chance to be part of establishing our Reggio Emilia inspired program. It has taught me to utilize new ideas and improve the learning environment for my students. I always incorporate a variety of hands on activities, fun manipulative and learning projects to inspire and motivate the students. This also includes the innovative integration of technology across the curriculum.

While spending time with my preschoolers, they remind me every day why I became a teacher! Teaching is an honorable profession that makes a difference in the lives of children. I love children and learn so much from them. I truly believe that each child is viewed as infinitely capable, creative, and intelligent. I have developed many valuable skills while teaching diverse groups of students including, cultural, children with learning disabilities, and gifted children. I am adept at individualizing the curriculum to meet each child's different needs and designing resourceful lesson plans that accommodate differing learning abilities and interests.

One of my goals this year is to improve on the documentations that are being noted everyday as a facilitator/observer. This will enhance my understanding of each and every child individually. Therefore, this is an ongoing achievement throughout the year.

PINTEREST! It is the most exciting place for an educator to be. This webpage/application, will change the way you perceive any kind of art work or just to expand on an idea. You will find many educators and being at home mommies, experimenting, exploring, and having their students be part of the outcome. I am passionate about empowering early years children and helping them to develop their full potential.
